An Istanbul daily cruise is one of the three or four things every guide tells you to do, but the schedules, prices and routes get confusing fast. There are short 90-minute sails, half-day runs with lunch, full-day trips to the Black Sea, and private charters at any hour. This is the complete 2026 guide — written by the people who run the boats every day, not a travel aggregator trying to sell you tickets.
The four main daily cruise options
- Short Bosphorus cruise — 90 minutes, lower strait only, no meal. €15–20.
- Morning or afternoon cruise with meal — 2 hours, breakfast or lunch on board, lower strait. €25–40.
- Sunset dinner cruise — 3 hours, full dinner with music, lower and middle strait. €55–75.
- Full-day Bosphorus and Black Sea cruise — 7+ hours, full strait up to the Black Sea with a shore stop at Anadolu Kavağı. €35 for public ferry version, €90–120 for a yacht version.
The 90-minute short cruise is the cheapest way onto the water and perfectly fine for a quick frame of the city, but it does not go past the second bridge, and there is no food. The sunset dinner cruise is the most popular, and the one most guides mean when they say “a Bosphorus cruise.” The full-day is for people who have an entire day to spend on the water and want to see the mouth of the Black Sea.

Daily cruise schedule in 2026
- 08:30 and 10:00 — morning cruises, Kabataş pier.
- 10:30 and 12:00 — short tourist cruises, Eminönü pier.
- 14:00 — afternoon cruise with lunch, Kabataş.
- 16:30 — sunset cruise (in winter, late October through February) with Turkish music.
- 19:30 — sunset dinner cruise (in summer, April through September) with dinner and show.
- 10:30 — full-day Bosphorus and Black Sea cruise, Eminönü pier; returns around 17:00.
Winter changes the sunset departure by about three hours as the sunset itself moves earlier. All departures are in Istanbul time (UTC+3).
Which pier should you use?
- Kabataş — European side, next to the tram line and ferry hub. Our morning, afternoon and private departures leave here. Short walk from the Taksim funicular.
- Eminönü — European side, next to the Spice Bazaar. The short sightseeing cruises and the full-day Black Sea trip leave here. Easiest if you are staying in Sultanahmet.
- Karaköy — European side, between Galata Bridge and Galataport. A newer pier used by some private operators; worth checking if your hotel is in Galata or Beyoğlu.
- Beylerbeyi — Asian side, right next to the palace. Private charters can board here on request.

How much does an Istanbul daily cruise cost in 2026?
- Short 90-minute cruise, no meal — €15 to €20 per adult.
- Morning cruise with Turkish breakfast — €25 adult, €15 child.
- Afternoon cruise with lunch — €40 adult, €22 child.
- Sunset dinner cruise with show — €55 to €75 adult, €32 to €45 child, depending on the night.
- Full-day Bosphorus and Black Sea on public ferry — €35 adult.
- Full-day Black Sea on a private yacht — €90 to €120 per adult if shared; private quoted per boat.
- Private charter (any route, any slot) — from €280 for two hours on a small motor yacht, up to €1,800+ for a dinner event on a large yacht.
Prices are what we charge direct in 2026. Booking through an aggregator usually adds a 15–25% margin on top of these.
Private vs shared — when private is worth it
For solo travellers, couples and small families, the shared cruise is the cheaper and perfectly fine option — the boats run large enough that the deck is never crowded, and you still get the view, the meal and the show. Private becomes worth it at around 8–10 guests: the per-head cost on a private charter lands close to the shared ticket, you lose the shared tables, and you can tailor the menu and route. For a proposal, a wedding, a milestone birthday or a corporate dinner, private is the only option that actually works. See the private Bosphorus sunset cruise for the headline private option.

Rain, wind and weather
Light rain, drizzle and overcast skies — all a go. Boats sail, meals move inside to the heated saloon, and the sail continues. Storms, lightning, and dangerous wind cancel the departure; in that case you get a free rebook to any future slot or a full refund to your original payment method within three business days. See the full weather and cancellation policy.
Short answers
Can I buy a ticket on the pier?
Yes, usually. The short sightseeing cruises almost always have same-day seats. Sunset dinner cruises sell out ahead on weekends; book 24 hours in advance to be safe, longer in summer.
Do I need to bring my passport?
No. The daily cruises stay inside Istanbul waters.
Are children welcome on the dinner cruise?
Yes. We have a children’s menu and the show is family-friendly.
Is there a free shuttle from the hotel?
Not on shared cruises. On private charters, hotel pickup is an add-on (€25 for a car to Kabataş or Eminönü).
What’s the best time of year?
April, May, September and October — mild weather, warm water, lighter crowds than July–August. Winter sunset cruises are quieter and surprisingly dramatic with early city lights; see our note on cruising in autumn weather.
